Washington, DC Tours - Spring/Summer Tour and Visitor Center Hours of Operation

This fall through spring 2018, the Washington, DC Tour and Visitor Center is anticipated to undergo a structural renovation.  Tours will continue to run during this time.  If you plan to visit the Bureau of Engraving and Printing during this timeframe, please check back prior to your visit for changes in entry locations, tour times, and for information regarding accessibility for those with disabilities.

Located in the heart of the Nation's Capital, the BEP's Washington, DC Tour and Visitor Center is a great place to learn all about U.S. paper currency.  You can see millions of dollars being printed as you walk along the gallery overlooking the production floor!  The free 40-minute experience includes an introductory film and gallery tour of the production process.  The visitor center includes exhibits and currency products for sale.

Admission is free. Tickets are required for the Currency Production Tour through September 1.

Tickets are not required to enter the visitor center and gift shop.

The BEP distributes a limited number of timed tour tickets at the ticket booth on a first-come, first-served basis.  Demand is high for tickets and go quickly when released, particularly during the Cherry Blossom Festival and days surrounding federal holidays.

The ticket booth, located at Raoul Wallenburg Place (formerly 15th ST, SW), opens at 8:00 a.m. Monday through Friday and closes when all tickets have been distributed for the day.

The tour entrance is located on 14th Street, SW, near C Street.  Visitors must line up according to their ticket time at the entrance on 14th Street and wait directions from tour guides to enter the building.

All visitors are required to go through security screening.
